It is an honor to be named the first nurse practitioner as President of this highly recognized state organization. The Florida Geriatric Society (FGS) was established in 1989, and is the state affiliate for the American Geriatric Society. We are an organization that is devoted to improving quality of life and advancing the health care of older adults through education, research, and advocacy.

Much emphasis has recently been put on the current COVID-19 and its varients vaccinations and boosters and now is a great time for all adults to review the CDC Recommended Vaccinations for Adults over 65 years of age, use the CDC Vaccine Assessment Tool below to determine which vaccines you need and then schedule with your healthcare provider. No data is collected nor stored by the Florida Geriatrics Society regarding entries made during the use of this Assessment Tool.
If you have need to schedule a visit with your healthcare provider it is IMPORTANT to call ahead before visiting to learn what their office protocols are for your visit. Offices are taking many additional steps and procautions to help mitigate further spread of COVID-19 when a patient arrives for a medical appointment.
